Main Street NJ: Bordentown Township

Bordentown is the “Crossroads of the Heart of New Jersey.” The township provides an attractive mix of neighborhoods, shopping options, restaurants, and public open spaces. Its proximity to major roadways and location in the center of New Jersey gives residents perfect access to New York, Philadelphia, Princeton, or the Jersey Shore. Experiencing substantial growth in the past 10 years, Bordentown looks forward to continuing that growth in the decades to come.

Nature Watch

The NJDEP’s Division of Fish and Wildlife added a Hybrid Bass (a mix of a striped and white bass) to the pond at Northern Community Park. This fish, which has the potential to break state records based on size, can be fished on a catch and release basis.

Visit the Bordentown Township Pollinator Garden in the spring! There are many pollinators (and a few predators) to watch while you enjoy the flowers.

Bordentown boasts several public parks that accommodate youth sports, active recreation for all ages (including brand new pickleball courts), fishing, and nature walks. The township is looking to develop a new 72-acre public park on the Delaware River.

Did you know?

The Bordentown Township Police Department (BTPD) unveiled a groundbreaking addition to its ranks in 2023 – Bordy, the first-ever police department mascot in New Jersey. The endearing character was introduced to foster a deeper connection between law enforcement and the community it serves, with a particular focus on engaging youth.
