C&K Properties unveiled that the makeover of the lobby of 2 Gateway Center, its Class A office tower in the heart of Newark’s Central Business District, have been completed. The renovations include the new Cotidiano coffee bar and café, a laptop bar and additional seating sections along with free wifi throughout the lobby.
Kimmerle Newman Architects redesigned the lobby to create a first-class lounge experience with modernized features for the more than 15,000 workers and commuters that pass through the Gateway concourse each day. Earlier this year, 2 Gateway celebrated the openings of The Gateway Project art gallery and the NJTV Agnes Varis Studio, both in the building’s lobby.
In the building’s renovated lobby, separate sections allow patrons to relax in casual sofa seating or work in the nearby laptop bar. The new coffee bar and bistro, Cotidiano, features a variety of locally sourced products, including coffee, juices, sandwiches and salads. Contidiano has been equipped with top-of-the-line appliances including an Astoria brand espresso machine. Ma. Sharon Rodriguez, a longtime resident of Newark’s Ironbound neighborhood, will be managing the café. She previously served as a manager at Hells Kitchen in Newark.
“With the renovations, we were able to extend 2 Gateway’s best-in-class connectivity into our lobby with free WiFi accessibility,” said Ben Korman, Co-Founder and Principal of C&K Properties. “The first-class lounge atmosphere offers a unique setting to work, relax, or simply grab a morning cup of coffee amidst one New Jersey’s most lively commercial corridors.”
2 Gateway has long been a technological leader in the regional commercial real estate industry. The building recently achieved WiredScore’s first Platinum certification in the state of New Jersey. A Platinum certification guarantees choices when selecting an Internet service provider, full distribution of fiber connectivity throughout the building, best in class infrastructure to ensure protection against service interruptions, and administrative best practices to streamline tenants’ ability to get connected.
Part of Newark’s 2.6-million-square-foot Gateway Complex, 2 Gateway Center is centrally located in the city’s downtown business district along Market Street between McCarter Highway and Mulberry Street. Among its many benefits, 2 Gateway Center is connected to an enclosed pedestrian walkway leading to Newark Penn Station, where commuters can access NJ TRANSIT, PATH, Newark Subway, Light Rail, and AMTRAK lines. Tenants also have access to a wide array of on-site amenities, including a fitness center, banking facility, café and conferencing center.
2 Gateway Center also provides an innovative Incentives Concierge Program and mobile app, through which brokerage professionals and companies can obtain free, customized analysis of the cost savings for prospective tenants under the New Jersey Economic Opportunity Act of 2013.
Currently, 2 Gateway Center is marketing leasing opportunities ranging from 3,000 to 330,000 square feet of ready-to-occupy Class A office space.
