Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. signs a long-term lease for approximately 160,000 square feet at 2 Gateway Center, promising to move 1,000 jobs to the city. C&K Properties owns the Class A office building in the heart of downtown Newark.
Broadridge, a global fintech leader, provides communications, technology, managed services, data and analytics solutions to financial firms in capital markets, wealth management, asset management and corporate issuers across multiple industries, will be moving one of its offices to 2 Gateway, drawn to its technological connectivity and superior transportation access. Broadridge, which currently employs 10,000 associates in 16 countries, will move approximately 1,000 jobs to Newark, in addition to construction jobs for its new space.
“This lease represents a major milestone not just for our building, but for Newark at large, with the addition of approximately 1,000 high-quality jobs to the market,” said Ben Korman, Co-Founder and Principal of C&K Properties. “It’s clear that Broadridge, like so many other industry-leading multinational companies, have recognized the value in establishing a significant presence in a world-class space only steps away from the region’s largest transportation hub. We’re excited to welcome one of the most highly respected financial services firms in the world to the blossoming business community at 2 Gateway.”
The agreement with Broadridge follows a noteworthy 2016 for 2 Gateway. After making significant improvements to its lobby area and concourse – which is home to NJTV’s live studio, The Gateway Project art gallery, and Cotidiano café and coffee bar – C&K Properties joined the City of Newark to launch Newark Fiber. 2 Gateway became the first building to participate in the Newark Fiber program, allowing tenants to access commercially available fiber-optic internet access, providing the region’s fastest internet speeds at the lowest cost.
For companies such as Broadridge, 2 Gateway’s unique connectivity – in both its transportation and technological infrastructures – has proven to be a strong draw. 2 Gateway recently was the first building in the state of New Jersey to achieve WiredScore’s Platinum certification, indicating superior choices when selecting an Internet service provider, full distribution of fiber connectivity throughout the building, best in class infrastructure to ensure protection against service interruptions, and administrative best practices to streamline tenants’ ability to get connected.
