Anthony Birritteri, editor-in-chief of New Jersey Business magazine, is promoted to assistant vice president of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA). 

“I’m honored to be named an officer of NJBIA, an organization that has its finger on the pulse of business and industry in the state,” Birritteri says. “From its government affairs to member services team, all of the association’s staff members are skilled and exceptional people who speak up for the needs of businesses, small and large.

“As for the magazine staff, I could not ask for a better group of professionals and friends to work with.”

According to Vincent Schweikert, publisher of New Jersey Business, “Anthony is highly respected by his peers and has a complete understanding of today’s business environment in the Garden State.”

Birritteri, began his career at the magazine in 1989 as editorial assistant upon graduating, with honors, from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in English. He previously had earned an associate’s degree in journalism from Union County College.

Throughout the years at the magazine, Birritteri was promoted to Associate Editor, Managing Editor, Senior Editor and, finally, Editor-in-Chief in 2004.

He has served as a past president of the Garden State Journalists Association for two consecutive terms in the mid-1990s. For the past 10 years he has been serving as the chair of the association’s Awards Committee.

A native of Elizabeth, Birritteri currently lives in Hunterdon County with his wife Aida and their two children, Olivia and Isabel.
