Six NJ-based Companies Named Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises by WBENC

Six corporations with a major presence in New Jersey were named as Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). They were: Alcatel-Lucent, Avis Budget Group, Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Merck & Co. Inc., and Verizon.

Overall, in concert with Women’s History Month, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) announces the 16th annual list of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs), the only national award honoring corporations for world-class Supplier Diversity programs that reduce barriers and drive growth for Women’s Business Enterprises.

“WBENC’s Top Corporations set the standard for enabling women suppliers to access increased opportunities in new markets – both domestically and internationally,” said Pamela Prince-Eason, President and CEO of WBENC, the nation’s leader in women’s business development. “WBENC-Certified WBEs in turn are able to fuel innovation, and empower communities through economic growth and job creation.”

The award announcement aligns with both Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8th, recognizing the accomplishments of both the WBENC Top Corporations and the WBEs they hire who compete successfully across industries and the global marketplace.

WBENC’s Top Corporations will be honored in front of an audience of 1,500 attendees at the WBENC Summit & Salute to Women’s Business Enterprises taking place March 18-19, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland. The event will showcase senior executives discussing the trends, challenges, and opportunities across multiple industries which impact the supply chain landscape.

To join C-suite and senior executives of WBENC Corporate and Government Members, WBEs, WBENC’s Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs), and other stakeholders in the women’s and diverse business community at the WBENC Summit & Salute visit: http://summit.wbenc.org.

The Top Corporations all have exemplary leading supplier diversity programs.
