SciTech Scity Welcomes JPMorganChase to the Healthcare Innovation Engine

JPMorganChase has joined SciTech Scity’s Healthcare Innovation Engine as a New Jersey Market Partner. The partnership will connect one of the world’s leading financial institutions with the nation’s first statewide digital health adoption platform, expanding the Healthcare Innovation Engine’s capacity to support healthcare startups.

The Healthcare Innovation Engine is a flagship initiative of SciTech Scity, Liberty Science Center’s 30-acre innovation campus under development in Jersey City. Launched in February 2024, the Engine is a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership dedicated to transforming healthcare by accelerating the adoption and scaling of digital-first care solutions.

The Engine was built to solve a persistent failure in US healthcare: billions invested in innovation each year, yet too few solutions ever reach patients at scale. To address this, the Engine identifies high-impact digital health startups and runs structured, real-world pilots that move solutions from concept to implementation. Each pilot is designed to generate measurable evidence, derisk adoption, and create a replicable model for scaling across communities and health systems.

The Engine’s work spans priority areas including cardiovascular care, maternal health, mental health, oncology, aging, and chronic disease. It is supported by a broad coalition of partners: EY, Bristol Myers Squibb, JPMorganChase, RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey Innovation Institute, Tech Council Ventures, Princeton University, Nokia Bell Labs, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, New Jersey Department of Human Services, New Jersey Department of Health, and Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services.

As a New Jersey Market Partner, it will engage directly with the Engine’s ecosystem of entrepreneurs, payers, government partners, and founders across the New Jersey and New York regions, mentoring early-stage companies and helping connect them to the resources and relationships needed to grow.

Liberty Science Center is developing a “Science City of Tomorrow” in Jersey City–a 30-acre innovation campus called SciTech Scity devoted to using science and technology to address humanity’s greatest challenges and create a better future for all of us. The new campus, including the existing Liberty Science Center, will be officially named the Frank J. Guarini Innovation Campus and start to open in 2026.

Supported by seven Fortune 500 level companies, the new construction at SciTech Scity will include: Liberty Science Center High School, a world-class public STEM high school; Edge Works, an eight-story business creation center with laboratories, R&D spaces, office suites, co-working spaces, a tech exhibition gallery, and a state-of-the-art conference center; Aviva Scholars Villageresidential housing built and operated by Alpine Residential; and Public Commons, three acres of outdoor space for community activations.

The Healthcare Innovation Engine, SciTech Scity’s flagship initiative, is the first statewide ecosystem in the country to accelerate digital health technology adoption. Recognized by the World Economic Forum with its 2025 Public-Private Collaboration Award, the Engine deploys patient pilots to translate promising new technologies into scalable solutions that improve health outcomes, advance equity, and reduce avoidable costs.
