Pierson Commercial Real Estate, a Marlboro-based commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm specializing in retail property assignments, has promoted Robert Mackowski to the position of director, announced Jason Pierson, president. The Hudson County, resident, who joined the firm in 2021, will continue to manage his diverse portfolio of retail properties while focusing on growing Pierson Commercial’s client base.
Mackowski marks Pierson Commercial’s latest promotion of in-house talent as the firm continues to grow its retail-focused assignments throughout New Jersey, including the Hudson River Waterfront.
“Rob, through his market knowledge, transactional expertise, client focused mentality and drive to continuously develop new institutional level clients has been an integral contributor toward our firm’s success,” said Pierson. “In doing so, he has paved the way for even greater accomplishments at a time when demand for retail across Central and Northern New Jersey continues to thrive, particularly in the established urban and suburban markets.”
During the course of his brokerage career thus far, Mackowski has arranged 55+ leases totaling more than 160,000SF in Hoboken and Jersey City alone.
He also has been instrumental in securing and spearheading several high-profile assignments and transactions on behalf of Pierson Commercial throughout Hudson County. These include arranging an 8,000-SF lease at Haus25 with MexiModo – Cocina Mexicana & Tequilla Bar on behalf of Veris Residential, Inc. in Jersey City and the $9M sale of the former Capital One located at 301 Washington Street, one of Hoboken’s premier corners, on behalf of Federal Realty.
In addition, Mackowski has recently solidified several new exclusive listings in Jersey City, including 475 Washington Boulevard and 244 Bay Street; in addition to growing his client base to include Advanced Realty, JEMB Realty, Tacombi, T-Mobile, Hammer & Nails and Sweathouz.
A graduate of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Mackowski has a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and launched his commercial real estate career as a research associate and economist at The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). He holds a New Jersey real estate salesperson license, is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has earned numerous commercial real estate distinctions. Among these is being named a 2019 Rising Star in Commercial Real Estate by Real Estate Weekly.
