Mount Arlington-based CPA firm Nisivoccia has announced the following promotions, effective January 2024.
David Benson, CPA, to director of tax
Benson joined Nisivoccia in October 2019 with 14 years of prior tax experience. He specializes in providing services to the firm’s individual and business tax clients.
Brian Gibbons, CPA, RMA, PSA, to manager
Gibbons began his career at Nisivoccia in 2017, providing accounting, audit, and single audit services to municipalities, counties, school districts, and other various government entities.
Brian Ko, CPA, RMA, PSA, to principal
Ko began his career with Nisivoccia as an intern in 2010, servicing the firm’s school district and municipal clients. He is an active member of the community and local chambers, including his role as the treasurer of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce. Ko is a member of the firm’s Quality of Life Committee.
Vicki Kosuda, CPA, to principal
Kosuda joined Nisivoccia in October 2022 to lead and expand the Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice within the firm. She came to Nisivoccia with extensive experience in client accounting services, cloud technology, and CFO services. She was also the owner of her own CAS consulting practice.
Caitlin Orton, CPA, RMA, PSA, to principal
Orton began her career as an intern with Nisivoccia in 2012 and has since developed a practice of servicing municipal and school district clients. She regularly participates in speaking engagements on the audit process and regulation changes.
Michelle Shapiro, CPA, to director of tax
Shapiro joined Nisivoccia in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of tax knowledge and expertise from working at other firms. She is the former president and currently a director of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, Morris/Sussex Chapter, a member of the Morris County Chamber Executive Women in Business Group and sits on the finance committee of the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
Harlene Stevens, CPA, to director of tax
Stevens will be celebrating 17 years with the firm in February 2024. She specializes in small busness and high net-worth clients and leads the firm’s dental accounting practice. She is a frequent speaker on tax planning topics.
Matt Sylvester to supervising senior
Sylvester joined the firm’s governmental entity group in 2019. He provides audit and accounting services to municipalities, school districts and local authority organizations.
