JA of New Jersey Debuts a New Look

A modernized brand identity and new president reflect a new era for JA this school year

JA of New Jersey (JANJ) has rebranded with a new logo, color scheme, and website. It is the first change to the Junior Achievement logo since 1986, with the update reflecting the organization’s evolution from a supplemental youth development program in the 1980s to a fully integrated education partner today.

JA helps students connect what they learn in school to life outside the classroom, especially when it comes to managing money, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship.

“JA has changed significantly over many years, and this update of our brand reflects that reality,” said James Horne, Jr., president, and CEO of JANJ. “We have worked closely with our partners in education, business, and the community to ensure that we deliver proven, life-changing learning experiences to students. This process, which includes the use of innovative learning technology, accelerated significantly throughout the pandemic. The time just felt right to make this change to our brand to recognize what JA has become.”

The new logo, which resembles planes flying in formation or a flock of geese, borrows elements from the five previous JA logos. The revamped logo and branding, which utilizes dark blue, turquoise, yellow, and green color elements, represents how one changemaker in the community, working in tandem with JA, can impact many lives. Ultimately, by working together, youth will be prepared with the resources and qualifications to succeed in a global economy.

While the logo and identity have evolved, the brand promise remains the same, which is to provide enriching learning experiences that promote greater economic opportunity and equity while helping young people reach their potential. In other words, our name is our promise. JA is creating a world where young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities.

The first part of the brand has begun and includes websites, social media channels, and other marketing materials. The transition will also include updating the curriculum, signage, and more, and is expected to take a few years to complete.

In addition to the rebrand, JANJ introduced a new president & CEO earlier this summer, James Horne, Jr. Home’s direction going forward is to leverage the achievements the JANJ team has made and continue to make an impact locally by providing countless innovative programs to students across the state.
