The law firm of Arnold & Porter has formally opened its office in Newark. Drawing upon the firm’s renowned capabilities in litigation, transactional, and regulatory services, the office will be led by Paul J. Fishman, former United States attorney for the District of New Jersey, who also heads Arnold & Porter’s Crisis Management and Strategic Response Team. Fishman will be joined by white collar defense lawyer and civil litigator, John M. Fietkiewicz, who served with Fishman as counsel to the US Attorney. Other firm partners admitted in New Jersey will also work out of the Newark office.
“Our firm has long been recognized for its litigation, transactional, and regulatory work across a diverse group of industries,” said Firm Chairman Richard M. Alexander. “Given our substantial relationships with New Jersey-based companies, and those doing business in the state, our presence in Newark will enhance our ability to effectively represent clients in this important market.”
Added Fishman, “Arnold & Porter’s Newark office, located in the heart of a city undergoing remarkable transformation, will offer the firm’s sophisticated capabilities to our existing New Jersey-based clients, those who face challenges in the state and federal courts, and those subject to governmental regulation in New Jersey. We also look forward to furthering Arnold & Porter’s deep tradition of pro bono work.”
