Inspira Medical Center Receives AMSN PRISM Award

Inspira Medical Center Elmer’s 2 South Acute Care Unit has been awarded the AMSN PRISM Award, an honor recognizing exceptional nursing practice, leadership and outcomes in hospital medical-surgical units. This is the hospital’s second PRISM Award as its 2 East Acute Care Unit was the first PRISM Award recipient in New Jersey in 2015. The award, which stands for “Premier Recognition In the Specialty of Med-Surg,” is co-sponsored by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB).

“We are extremely excited and proud to receive this award,” said Todd Way, executive vice president of Operations for Inspira Health Network. “Our 2 South team here in Elmer has earned this award as a result of their dedication and commitment to providing great care and outcomes to our patients.”

The PRISM Award recognizes the collective achievements and contributions of the nursing unit and its staff, and is a public symbol of the Acute Care Unit’s journey to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care. The award celebrates units that exhibit:

  • Effective leadership
  • Recruitment and retention of competent staff members
  • Evidence-based practice
  • Positive patient outcomes
  • A healthy practice environment
  • Lifelong learning of unit staff members

The 2 South Acute Care Unit earned an advanced level score in 5 out of 6 these categories, scoring highest in the category of positive patient outcomes.
