Faranca Named General Manager of Showboat Resort

Showboat Resort in Atlantic City has appointed Anthony Faranca as the property’s new general manager. Faranca, a veteran casino resort executive, has managed large casino resort hotels in several states including Maryland, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. He brings nearly two decades of executive management experience to Showboat. As a Philadelphia native with Jersey Shore roots, he also contributes deep knowledge of Atlantic City and the Northeast region to the property.

Faranca started his casino career in Atlantic City as a guest services manager, quickly climbing through the ranks to regional vice president of national casino marketing at the four Caesars Atlantic City properties. In 2009, Faranca was named vice president and general manager of Parx Casino. His next successful move was to Station Casinos in Las Vegas where he served as vice president and general manager for the Palms Casino Resort. He eventually headed back home to the East in 2019 joining the Cordish Companies as vice president and general manager of Live! Casino in Hanover, MD. During this time, Faranca navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, launched a sportsbook, and opened a 5,000-seat event center. More recently, he served as president of Hard Rock Atlantic City, responsible for all operations including their 7,000-seat event center.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of such a decorated executive to the Showboat team,” said Bart Blatstein, Tower Investments CEO and Showboat owner. “Anthony has the experience and qualities that will ensure he is a valuable asset to not only our Showboat family, but also the entire community.”
