Current Meditation Set to Expand in NJ as First Regional Developer License Awarded for the World’s First Meditation Franchise

Current Meditation™, the world’s first brand to make the practice of meditation mainstream through a national franchise, announced its inaugural regional developer license has been awarded in New Jersey (the area from Ocean County up to Northern NJ region) and that multiple additional key markets are under negotiation.

Current Meditation, which opened its first studio near its corporate headquarters in Phoenix nearly one year ago, anticipates that by the end of the year all available regions will be sold, with 175 franchised locations opening across the country in the next three years.

“We are at the leading edge of a huge emerging industry with pent up demand for approachable meditation,” said Ross Weisman, CEO of Current Meditation. “The practice of meditation and mindfulness is something that anyone can experience the tangible benefits of every day. Whereas meditation is often a solitary practice, our studios bring people together as a like-minded community.”

Current Meditation is an innovative approach to helping people to develop their own sustainable meditation practice. The classes include scientifically backed techniques with a format that makes meditation and mindfulness accessible to more people than ever before. In a beautifully designed studio featuring the comfort of both aerial silks and seated positions, Current Meditation’s skilled guides create an optimal meditation experience, in a way no app can offer.

“We’ve seen study after study about the millions of Americans who report rising levels of stress and anxiety which are leading to other serious health complications,” said Weisman. “The line between work-life balance is increasingly blurred as our digital lives consume us without pause. People are searching for ways to care not just for their bodies, but also for their minds. We are grateful for the opportunity to help inspire millions to cultivate a healthy state of mind.”

The team behind Current Meditation is no novice to the health, wellness, and franchising industries; they bring a combined 60 years of experience to the high growth brand. Weisman has extensive experience in regional development and franchise operations for Massage Envy and European Wax Center. He was instrumental in growing the regional networks from 53 to 246 locations. COO Matt Robinson has been building and leading retail and franchise organizations for over 20 years.  He held national corporate roles with AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile, prior to serving as COO of a multi-brand, multi-state franchise group. Other core members include Bob Weisman, co-founder and chief business development officer, Jeff Weisman, co-founder and chairman, and Jon Brovitz, co-founder and vice president.

Current Meditation offers a proven membership model in the thriving wellness segment with a service that is non-invasive. Franchisees will find studios easy-to-operate with minimal staff and no industry-specific license or certification requirements. Studios have low overhead and fixed expenses as well as a state-of-the-art buildout.
