Book Reveals Best Practices for Businesses to Avoid Lawsuits

Mentor Business Books has released “10 Ways to Get Sued by Anyone and Everyone; The Small Business Owner’s Guide to Staying Out of Court.” Written by New Jersey Attorney Mitchell Beinhaker, Esq. and Barry H. Cohen, the book outlines the best practices to stay on the right side of laws and regulations. Citing the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, the authors point out the most common pitfalls that small business owners can and do fall prey to.

Based on a series of interviews with attorneys in multiple practice areas, 10 Ways walks the business owner through potential minefields in HR, such as hiring, retention, termination; workplace safety, discrimination and harassment. In addition, the book details methods to avoid business disputes, essential contract provisions for partners, suppliers and vendors—along with what to do if the inevitable happens and you become a party to a lawsuit.

10 Ways is available on all major bookseller websites in both paperback and e-book formats. Cohen is also the author of 10 Ways to Screw Up an Ad Campaign and the co-author of Startup Smarts; both titles are published by Simon and Schuster. Attorney Beinhaker hosts the popular podcast “the Accidental Entrepreneur.”
