AmeriHealth New Jersey announced that Summit Medical Group has joined the company’s Local Value Network. AmeriHealth New Jersey members who use the Local Value Network are now able to visit any Summit Medical Group provider or CityMD location on an in-network basis.
Summit Medical Group is recognized as New Jersey’s premier multispecialty medical group. As of August 2019, Summit Medical Group merged with CityMD, the leading urgent care provider in the New York metro area. The combined organization, which has more than 1,400 providers and nearly 200 locations in New Jersey and New York, will offer patients a seamless experience across a full spectrum of high-quality primary, specialty, and urgent care.
Summit Medical Group will also be a Tier 1 provider in AmeriHealth New Jersey’s AmeriHealth Advantage Plan. This will enable AmeriHealth New Jersey members who have an AmeriHealth Advantage Plan to visit any Summit Medical Group provider or CityMD location and receive an enhanced member benefit.
“We are pleased to welcome Summit Medical Group and CityMD locations in New Jersey to our Local Value Network,” said Ken Kobylowski, senior vice president of provider contracting and network operations for AmeriHealth New Jersey. “Summit Medical Group and CityMD’s combined organization offers an extensive number of locations throughout central and northern New Jersey, providing our members with enhanced access to another Tier 1 provider.”
“Summit CityMD has an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective care. Improving access to care for people who are seeking more choice, lower copayments and out-of- pocket costs is an important part of our offering,” said Peter Saunders, senior vice president, revenue cycle.
“As one organization, Summit CityMD will ensure our patients have greater access to the highest quality care, provided with convenience, exceptional service and value,” added Angela Profeta, chief strategy officer.
