Acting Governor Kim Guadagno continued to demonstrate her commitment to New Jersey’s small and local businesses during the first stop of her business roundtable tour in Berkeley Township. The meeting consisted of herself, Mayor Carmen Amato, and local business leaders exemplifying how businesses and communities work together to create successful partnerships.
“We have made a lot of progress, but there is still work to be done,” said Acting Governor Guadagno. “That is why I am here today. I am interested to hear what these business leaders have to say, so that I know where we should be focusing our efforts to best help them succeed and grow in New Jersey.”
In addition to identifying areas of potential further improvement, the tour also celebrates and highlights New Jersey’s recent economic successes. These include cutting taxes for businesses, initiative to cut red tape, highest levels of office leasing in a decade, New Jersey’s distinction as a center for innovation, and continuously dipping unemployment numbers, which are among the most significant in the nation.
“I am very pleased with the support we have received from Acting Governor Guadagno,” said Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato. “I am particularly excited about today’s round table discussion on business development.”
This inaugural roundtable was hosted by The Cove Waterfront Bar and Grill, owned by Mr. Charles Turro, who has been a consistent proponent of charitable giving in the community. The roundtable tour will continue with soon to be announced dates and locations in February.
