6 NJ Emergency Depts. Receive Nursing Lantern Award

Six hospital emergency departments in the state – and 53 nationwide – will receive the Emergency Nurses Association’s 2023 Lantern Award for demonstrating exceptional and innovative leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research performance.

The New Jersey emergency departments include: Morristown Medical Center’s Sameth Emergency Department; Overlook Medical Center Emergency Services, Union Campus; CentraState Medical Center Emergency Department; Bayshore Medical Center, Dr. Robert H. Harris Emergency Care Center, Holmdel; Hackensack Meridian Health’s Old Bridge Medical Center Emergency Department and Raritan Bay Medical Center Emergency Department, Perth Amboy; and Bayshore Medical Center, Dr. Robert H. Harris Emergency Care Center, Holmdel. 

The hospitals will be recognized in upcoming ENA publications, on the ENA website and during Emergency Nursing 2023, the association’s annual conference in San Diego Sept. 21-23. This year’s recipients are spread across the United States and across the globe, with an emergency department in the United Arab Emirates receiving the award for the second time.
