NJBIA/NJBM Annual Manufacturing Awards

The New Jersey Business & Industry Association and New Jersey Business Magazine take pride in recognizing nine manufacturers in the state with our 3rd annual Manufacturing Awards. The selected companies run the gambit of small, mid-sized and large businesses throughout the state. More importantly, they represent a diversity of quality products that improve the lives of millions of people around the world. We congratulate this year’s winners, and hope our readers enjoy their profiles below.

Arc Americas

Dean Kimber, CEO

Originally founded in 1825 in France, Arc has been providing innovative and sustainable glass solutions to enjoy eating, drinking and home experiences for nearly 200 years. In 2022, Arc was featured on Mike Rowe’s “How America Works,” and celebrated its 40th anniversary of US manufacturing. It produces about 1 million pieces of glass every day and proudly employs nearly 1,000 people in its American headquarters in Millville. The company produces everything from candle jars to custom promotional glasses, collections for large retailers, and beautiful, durable tableware for the hospitality industry. Since its founding, Arc has continuously evolved to stay at the forefront of the industry by innovating manufacturing techniques, incorporating cutting-edge technologies, developing new designs and materials, and pushing the boundaries with its creative vision. These key areas of focus have helped Arc grow to become a world leader in the tabletop industry.

For more than 160 years, Anheuser-Busch has carried on a legacy of brewing great-tasting, high-quality beers that have satisfied beer drinkers for generations. Today, Anheuser-Busch owns and operates more than 120 facilities, including breweries, wholesaler distribution centers, agricultural facilities and packaging plants, and has more than 19,000 colleagues across the country. Anheuser-Busch is home to America’s most loved beer and beyond beer brands, including Michelob ULTRA, Cutwater Spirits, Stella Artois, Budweiser and Bud Light. The company has called New Jersey home since 1951 and is proud to employ more than 400 colleagues in its Jersey City sales office and Newark brewery, the second oldest in the Anheuser-Busch system. From responsible drinking programs and emergency drinking water donations to industry-leading sustainability efforts, Anheuser-Busch is guided by its unwavering commitment to supporting the communities it calls home.

ExxonMobil Corporation

Darren W. Woods, Chairman & CEO

ExxonMobil, one of the largest publicly traded international energy and petrochemical companies, creates solutions that improve quality of life and meet society’s evolving needs. The corporation’s primary businesses – Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions – provide products that enable modern life, including energy, chemicals, lubricants and lower-emissions technologies. ExxonMobil is one of the largest integrated fuels, lubricants and chemical companies in the world. New Jersey is home to ExxonMobil’s Clinton Technology Center – the company’s center for research and development since 1985. The facility employees more than 650 scientists, engineers and technicians who develop breakthrough technologies and collaborate with universities, national labs and industry partners to advance climate solutions. New Jersey also hosts ExxonMobil’s Paulsboro lubricant blend plant that employees 150+ technicians who manufacture more than 250 oils and lubricants including top selling Mobil1.


Steve Fisher, President & CEO

Novelis is the leading producer of flat-rolled aluminum products and the world’s largest recycler of aluminum. The company provides innovative solutions to the automotive, beverage can, specialty and aerospace markets. For more than 50 years, Novelis’ employees in Clayton have been manufacturing aluminum foil and semi-rigid foil containers for food packaging and distribution.

The facility has evolved into a re-rolling and finishing operation that now supplies foil and light-gauge, non-heat treatable aluminum coiled sheet to end markets across the retail, food service, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and baking industries. With a manufacturing capability to deliver countless colors, prints and customizations on its aluminum sheet, the Clayton facility is proud of its longstanding customer relationships. Additionally, Novelis’ 110 employees are active volunteers and contribute to many Gloucester County-based organizations.

Nutri-Pet Research, Inc./NUPRO Pet Supplements

Janis Gianforte-Horner, President

For more than 34 years, NUPRO Pet Supplements has been an essential part of the natural healthcare industry for pets. Its products are used by professionals such as AKC Dog Show breeders/handlers, and police K9/search and rescue, sporting, agility and coursing trainers to keep canine athletes in optimal health. NUPRO’s formulas can be used by household dogs as well. These products help with skin, coat, allergies, immune system, excess shedding, joint mobility and more. NUPRO also makes supplements for cats and ferrets. The company uses whole food ingredients in their natural state to enhance a pet’s well-being. It has developed the first Nutritional Smoothie mix for dogs. Another product, NUPRO Lyfe-Spyce, contains turmeric, curcumin and healthy mushrooms for strong immune function. The company staffs seven employees in Manalapan. It supports many canine and feline rescues, police and veteran-owned dogs, and provides raffle prizes for clubs to raise funds for local rescues across the country.

Paramount Products Co., Inc.

Harry Vogel, President & CEO

Starting in Hillside in 1945, Paramount Products Co., Inc., now located in Brick, has enjoyed a reputation for producing quality precision and commercial stampings to satisfied customers at competitive prices with on-schedule deliveries. Under the direction of Harry Vogel, president & CEO since 1972, the family-owned firm is service oriented and cares that its customers are satisfied with Paramount’s production competence, quality and reliability. The company runs progressive, draw, compound and single operation dies with secondary and sub-assembly capabilities.

Its years of experience assures customers of uniform quality, whether running millions of parts or only several hundred intricate stampings for the electronics, defense, medical, automotive, aerospace and hardware industries. Paramount is looking forward to many new and exciting challenges in the future.


Dr. Ilham Kadri, CEO

Solvay is a science company whose technologies bring benefits to many aspects of daily life. With more than 21,000 employees in 63 countries, Solvay bonds people, ideas and elements to reinvent progress. The group seeks to create sustainable shared value, notably through its Solvay One Planet roadmap, which is crafted around three pillars: protecting the climate, preserving resources, and fostering a better life. The group’s innovative solutions contribute to safer, cleaner and more sustainable products found in homes, planes, cars, batteries, smart devices, healthcare applications, and water and air purification systems. Solvay, which was founded in 1863, has a manufacturing facility in West Deptford, which employs 130 people, and offices in Princeton. The company is proud to work with various local community organizations.


Meta Rohde, President

For nearly 40 years, Paterson-based Synergy Microwave Corporation has been an innovative leader in the design and manufacture of RF and microwave signal sources and processing components. Many of the company’s products are used in telecommunications and diagnostics systems that are essentials in mobile phone infrastructure, military defense, research and medical industries. The family-owned company is a pioneer in the development of surface-mount technology with the introduction of the first surface mount frequency signal mixer in 1985, followed by a full spectrum of (SMT) products. Synergy has also been a leader in reducing noise and increasing bandwidth in oscillators and frequency synthesizers. It has been recognized by Microwaves and RF Magazine for having top products of the year. In 2016 and 2018, it was honored with supplier excellence awards for effective performance in the military defense industry.

VERSA Products Co., Inc. (VERSA)

Jan Larsson, President & CEO

VERSA Products Co., Inc. is a global engineering and manufacturing company specializing in solenoid, pilot and manual actuated directional control valves and related components. Its ongoing dedication to innovation and its field-proven products have positioned the company as a driving force in fluid power and valve automation markets. Founded in 1949 by Carl Carlson, Karl Larsson, Frank and Robert Engstrom, and Howard Meyer, VERSA remains true to its roots and continues to build its reputation on quality, responsive customer service, and technical expertise. Today, VERSA is owned and operated by the founders’ families and employs more than 140 people at its headquarters/manufacturing facility in Paramus. VERSA focuses on giving back to the community through employee volunteer programs and contributions to nonprofits that “enhance the quality of life in our communities.” These nonprofits include Eva’s Village, The Community Food Bank of NJ, Habitat for Humanity, and NJ Seeds.
