Advancing Innovative Solutions for a Lower-emission Energy Future
Access to reliable and affordable energy is essential to our daily lives and underpins economic and social progress around the world. At ExxonMobil, we are proud to contribute to this progress by reliably supplying the energy the world needs, strengthening global energy security, and playing a leading role in the energy transition.
The move to a lower-emission future requires multiple solutions that can be implemented at scale to address some of the highest-emitting sectors of the economy. This is where we are focused, leveraging our experience and long history of meeting vast complex challenges.
For nearly 140 years, we have been a leader in innovation, supplying products people need to live healthy, prosperous lives in an ever-changing world. And over the next six years, we’re investing more than $15 billion in lower-emission opportunities – a significant share of which is focused on scaling up carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and biofuels.
Our research and development facility in Clinton, New Jersey serves as the center of science and technology at ExxonMobil. There, our scientists and engineers are working to develop innovative and scalable solutions to help reduce emissions, with a focus on the highest-emitting and most-difficult-to-decarbonize sectors of the economy: commercial transportation, power generation and heavy industry.
Today, our Clinton site is home to more than 800 ExxonMobil employees who are developing breakthrough technologies, testing the most sophisticated tools and processes available today, and collaborating with academics, national labs and other industry partners to drive scientific discovery and advance climate solutions.

Bridging the Gap Between Business & Labor
BUILD FAST, BUILD SAFE, BUILD SMART, BUILD UNION – The EASRCC represents more than 40,000 highly skilled men and women, 2,500 businesses, 15 regional offices, 175 staff members, 22 local unions, 18 training centers, and 4,000 apprentices living, working and operating in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Virginia and West Virginia.
As industry stakeholders, our partners benefit from the strength and resources our organization has spent building for more than a century. We can work cooperatively with owners, developers and contractors, and – most importantly – maintain the superior quality of workmanship that our industry has come to expect from union carpenters.
We recently expanded our training center portfolio by adding an Underwater Dive Academy and Infrastructure Academy. This is in addition to our current facilities located in Edison and Hammonton, New Jersey. We also have articulation agreements with numerous universities and colleges and are also working to achieve our own college accreditation as part of our current curriculum.
We are proactively addressing industry concerns related to labor and contractor shortages. In high schools, we started to incorporate our Career Connection curriculum for students interested in the trades. In urban communities, we’ve incorporated our Carpenter Apprentice Readiness Program (CARP) to enhance opportunities for women and minorities. This is in conjunction with holding traditional methods of recruitment at high schools, vocational schools, military bases, career fairs, colleges and working with community groups.
We have also focused on cultivating the next generation of Small, Minority-, Women-, and Veteran-owned businesses. We are hosting entrepreneur seminars, boots camps and finally are offering small business grants to members interested in starting a business.
In addition to providing the most qualified and professional carpenters in the industry. We have invested more than $1.2 billion in numerous project developments, in turn, creating economic opportunity for everyone.

Keeping Families, Healthy, Safe at Home and Connected to Their Communities
Bergen’s Promise is the Care Management Organization (CMO) of Bergen County as part of the New Jersey Children’s System of Care. We are a rapidly growing, mission driven, non-profit social service organization. We provide in home, integrated wrap-around support to youth up to age 21 who experience behavioral, emotional, substance use challenges and/or live with developmental/intellectual disabilities. We build a team around the family, providing them with support and linkage to local resources that will address social determinants of health and help sustain their progress. Currently, we are supporting approximately 1,800 youth and families in Bergen County.
Bergen’s Promise also administers BergenResourceNet.org.
The ResourceNets are online resource directories that connect families and/or professionals working with families, to the resources available in their county. People who are struggling should know the resources available to them. New Jersey residents can find their county resource directory on NJResourceNet.org. They can find their local Care Management Organization by searching NJCMO.org.
The team members at Bergen’s Promise are essential front-line workers that put values into action. These values include Professionalism, Talent Engagement and Development, Health and Safety, Collaboration, and Cultural Diversity. The pandemic tested every aspect of agency operations and service delivery. In addition, racial, social, political tensions, and food, employment and financial insecurities exacerbated the mental health challenges of youth and families and took a toll on staff. Families are still struggling and Bergen’s Promise and other CMOs are in a hiring crisis.
We look to establish collaborative relationships with local businesses. We have good and welfare events and other opportunities to help support families we serve that need extra assistance with some basic needs throughout the year. We strive to keep people informed and connected to their communities and can attend community or employer wellness fairs.
We need YOUR help to spread the word about the support the NJ Care Management Organizations like Bergen’s Promise provide. Share our job opportunities with those who may be looking for a fulfilling career making a difference in the lives of children and families.
