Atlantic City Named Best Gambling Destination

After a month-long online 10Best Reader’s Choice voting campaign by USA Today, voters crowned Atlantic City as the best gambling destination in the world, topping a list of 19 another competitors that were nominated by a panel of travel agents specializing in gambling travel.  Rounding out the top five were Connecticut, Las Vegas, Monte Carlo and Reno.

“This is great news for Atlantic City!” said CRDA Executive Director John Palmieri.  “These results affirm our continuing commitment to – and investment in – non-gaming attractions that help distinguish Atlantic City from other gaming destinations throughout the world.”

Atlantic City currently boasts eight hotel casino gaming properties – Bally’s, Borgata, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Harrah’s, Resorts, Tropicana and Taj Mahal – along with several popular beach bars, free beaches, internationally-acclaimed and neighborhood-favorite dining, state-of-the-art conference/meeting venues, historic Absecon Lighthouse, the Atlantic City Aquarium, world-famous Boardwalk, Steel Pier, outlet and destination shopping at Tanger Outlets The Walk and Bass Pro Shops, respectively, and of course the Miss America Pageant and Show Us Your Shoes Parade.

“Atlantic City is the Triple Crown winner – a beach, a Boardwalk and casino gaming.  Where else can you go in the world to get all three at once,” said City of Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian.  “Atlantic City is the place to be for fun in the sun while enjoying all of the casino gambling that you want!”

Meanwhile, in another USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice online poll, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa was recognized by voters as the 7th Best U.S. Casino.  Also, Atlantic City has been named by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the 10 best places to find a great July 4th hotel deal.
