With zero fee processing, credit and debit card processing fees are transferred to customers who don’t want to pay for goods or services with cash. A simple way to view it is to note that everything you sell is already discounted to the “full cash value.” When customers choose to pay with a credit or debit card, they pay the full retail value plus tax which is the non-cash adjusted amount. Gas stations across the country have been using this form of processing for decades but how often have you noticed it and/or opted to pay the cash price?
During a transaction, a non-cash adjustment appears as a prompt on the merchant’s terminal showing how much the fee is. When the merchant finalizes the sale, a receipt as shown below, will print highlighting that fee. To ensure customers are aware of the adjustment, complimentary signage must be visible with the adjustment rate
Fees are eliminated altogether when merchants already own equipment that is compatible with the program. To date, Net Zero Processing FeesTM has been able to work with a variety of POS systems such as RPOWER, Aldelo, Micros, Restaurant Technologies, TouchBistro, SilverWare, Digital Dining and POSitouch. Merchants who have needed to purchase new equipment are typically spending $49 a month for up to two Dejavoo terminals.
“I started this program … with the hope of doing away with the fees. Not only have the fees disappeared but my incidence of credit card usage has decreased by approximately 25 percent, which translates into increased cash receipts,” said Adam Lenar, Owner of Portabello Café in Staten Island, New York. “Utilization of the proper verbiage has led to almost non-existent push-back from my guests as well as increasing my profit margin.”
