The Child Health Institute of New Jersey of Rutgers/RWJ Medical School (CHINJ)

The mission of the CHINJ is to create a research institution of extraordinary quality focused on understanding the causes and mechanisms of childhood diseases, and to translate research discoveries into prevention, treatment and cure. A pioneer in pediatric medical research, the CHINJ is studying childhood diseases and recruits world-class investigators in immunity, autoimmunity and inflammation, autism and neurodevelopment, pediatric cancers and stem cells, and obesity, metabolism and genetics. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at RWJ University Hospital

The 105-bed state-designated, acute care children’s hospital is a state-of-the-art children’s hospital specially designed to address the needs of children of all ages, from fragile newborns to adolescents. The hospital was recently designated New Jersey’s first and only pediatric trauma center, and has a dedicated, separate Pediatric Emergency Department specially designed and focused to meet the individual needs of children and their families.
