How Energy Initiatives Generate Economic Growth

According to the US Department of Energy, the nation will need 40 percent more electricity by 2030. The Mid-Atlantic region alone will need at least 13 percent more electricity by 2030. New Jersey must find a way to meet this increasing demand in a strategic and timely manner.  The State of New Jersey, the state’s utilities, and energy-related organizations recognize the essential role energy plays in ensuring a comfortable and high quality of life for the state’s residents and businesses, in retaining and growing businesses in the state, and ultimately, in expanding the state’s economy.  The special section on the following pages explores “How Energy Initiatives Generate Economic Growth” via a series of articles written by: The New Jersey Utilities Association, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the United States Green Building Council’s New Jersey Chapter and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
