A Touch of Class

Pozycki Hall at Monmouth University

On the bucolic Monmouth University campus in West Long Branch stands Pozycki Hall – a two-story, 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art academic facility named after and funded by alumnus Steven J. Pozycki and his wife, Elaine. Steven Pozycki is a member of the Monmouth University Board of Trustees and founder, chairman and CEO of Parsippany-based SJP Properties.

Pozycki Hall is a welcome addition to the Monmouth University campus. The building is connected by a second floor pedestrian bridge to the Leon Hess Business School and Kislak Real Estate Institute in Bey Hall. It houses eight faculty offices, a computer lab, video conference rooms, a student lounge, common areas and an outside terrace and patio. The building also includes a state-of-the-art, 175-seat auditorium that is used for lectures, as well as campus and community events.

The $6.9-million complex utilizes the latest technology, with wireless access and flat screen televisions available throughout. The lecture hall features a multi-screen digital AV system with touch screen note-taking ability and two video conference rooms that enable worldwide communication. In addition, there is a 32-station computer lab, and charging stations are conveniently located in public areas.

Environmentally-friendly features of Pozycki Hall include a state-of-the-art lighting package, which utilizes a networked system that combines dimming, time-of-day-based, sensor and manual lighting controls for energy efficiency.

Classroom lighting is accomplished through direct/indirect pendant lights that provide the uniform light levels ideal for learning with solar shades installed in all classrooms. High performance glass and glazing was used to reduce the amount of sun/heat entering the building.

The site design also meets or exceeds all state and/or municipal standards for stormwater management and groundwater recharge, and reduced the amount of total on-site asphalt-covered pedestrian pathways.

The site employs 17 full-time and 17 part-time workers.
