Trenton Thunder Ball Park Billboard Replacement – ‘Sign’ of the Times for Trenton

When fans come to Trenton Thunder Ball Park this season, they’ll have something added to cheer about: A brand new billboard in the outfield.

Golden Crown Contractors, Inc., a local, state-certified Women Business Enterprise/Small Business Enterprise (WBE/SBE) company, was retained to restore and replace the stadium’s 9,500-square-foot, 20-year-old, original billboard. The $140,847 contract, administered by the Mercer County Parks Commission, called for the removal of billboard advertisements, removal of the wooden billboard, and full billboard replacement.

A new billboard was desperately needed. The original was deteriorating, had holes in it, and was starting to fall apart. Golden Crown Contractors built new wooden panels with marine plywood, primed all the panels, installed the new panels and applied finishing coats. Two all-terrain articulating lifts were needed to complete the project, as the billboard is 30-feet high. As a major focal point inside the stadium, the new billboard provides a significant enhancement to the park.

Also new at Trenton Thunder Ball Park this season is its renamed Capital City Club, the ball park’s luxury suite and conference center. Located on the Berkshire Bank Luxury Suite Level behind home plate, the Capital City Club includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, private wait service, and a fully stocked bar and bartender for private groups, and balcony seating to enjoy the game. The Capital City Club is available for such events as birthday parties, anniversaries and business luncheons.

Established in 1978, Golden Crown Contractors, Inc. provides general construction services for a broad spectrum of clients. More than 70% of the firm’s work is for repeat clients.
