The Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery is located in Linden, New Jersey. The refinery was built by the Standard Oil New Jersey Company and began operations in January 1909. Over time, the refinery was expanded and modernized by a series of companies that would own and operate the facility; Phillips 66 has operated the facility since 2012. Named after a nearby neighborhood spanning the cities of Linden and Elizabeth, the Bayway Refinery has been providing residents and businesses in the region with a variety of products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, home heating oil, propane, butane, plastics and other products which have been improving people’s lives for more than a century.

At Phillips 66, we pride ourselves on being a responsible citizen and good neighbor. An open dialogue is maintained with its neighboring communities through the Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP). We invest in our community through charitable contributions, community engagement, employee volunteerism, sponsorships and civic leadership. We encourage and support our employees’ involvement in local nonprofit organizations by offering matching gift and employee volunteer grant programs. Our community investment focus areas are: Education & Literacy, Environment & Sustainability, Community Safety & Preparedness, and Other Civic Enrichment initiatives.

Today’s Refinery is a safe, reliable and responsible operation that is controlled with state-of-the-art computer systems able to economically optimize the operation, providing the most highly valued products, while minimizing our environmental footprint. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of those who play a part in our operations, live in the communities in which we operate, or use our products. We conduct our business with respect and care for the environment and manage risks to drive sustainable business growth. We provide our employees and contractors with the tools and training to operate the Refinery safely and maintain it in optimum condition. Over the past several years, Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery has been the recipient of several, top AFPM safety awards.
