This year has proven to be an exceptional year for Connell Foley in terms of growth, with the firm’s ranks swelling to nearly 150 lawyers. In February 2018, Connell Foley hired nearly a dozen highly skilled litigators and several professional staff who joined the firm’s Newark office. The group, led by veteran trial attorney Jeffrey O’Hara, has a national focus and handles casualty cases involving large exposure, catastrophic events, as well as franchise, transportation and products liability claims.

Notably, in May 2018, Connell Foley was extremely pleased to welcome Former Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno as a partner at the firm. As New Jersey’s 33^rd Secretary of State, Lt. Governor Guadagno was widely recognized by industry leaders statewide for her success in creating and retaining jobs, promoting economic growth, and reducing burdensome regulations on businesses. Lt. Governor Guadagno’s tremendous relationships with government and business leaders are unparalleled and further strengthen Connell Foley’s steadfast commitment to counseling startups, large public and private corporations, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations. Drawing on her extensive background in the public and private sectors, Lt. Governor Guadagno offers strategic counsel to clients involved in complex civil, criminal and regulatory litigation. She also provides counsel on a wide range of local, state and federal policy issues, economic development projects, and business matters.

The firm also welcomed another dozen attorneys across different offices and practice areas, with Anthony LaPorta joining as a partner in the Taxation and Estate Planning Group, and associates further bolstering the firm’s strengths in real estate, insurance, healthcare and litigation.
