Since 1969, Russo Development has created its identity by determining the highest and best use for underutilized properties throughout New Jersey, delivering more than eight million square feet of industrial projects, and more than 1,500 residential rental units with another 3,500 in the pipeline in the next five years.
Since 2000, Russo has opportunistically branched out into data center development, becoming the largest owner and developer of that property type in NJ.
Russo Development’s first multi-family project, Vermella Lyndhurst – consisting of 296 luxury apartments and an 8,000 square foot fully amenitized clubhouse – was a catalyst to transform this blighted property into the pride of the municipality and community.
Since that redevelopment, Russo has identified properties in municipalities with similar traits focusing on transit-oriented Class A mixed-used developments in towns including Harrison, Kearny, Lyndhurst, Verona, and Waldwick. Russo builds to appeal to legacy residents looking to downsize as well as renters-by-choice who have been priced out of Manhattan and The Gold Coast but want that same luxury experience.
It continues to trailblaze through North Jersey with a mixed-use residential community opening this fall in Union across from Kean University, and similar projects planned in Newark, Hackensack, Orange and Garwood.
Russo Development’s most recent acquisition is the former Kingsland Tract in Bergen County, with plans to develop a new logistics e-commerce center with partner Forsgate Industrial Partners. It will construct approximately three million square feet of industrial space in one of the most critical markets in the country.
Russo Development’s impressive list of companies it has provided purpose-built developments for includes Bloomberg, LP, New York Stock Exchange, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan Chase, Macy’s, Pepsi Bottling Company, and SunGard among others.
Russo Development’s portfolio has changed and expanded over the past 50 years, but what has remained consistent is its ability to collaborate with municipalities and best-in-class developers, contractors, architects and engineers to create real estate projects that attract businesses and residents in New Jersey.
