Supporting Businesses for Economic Success

County College of Morris (CCM) is a leader in supporting economic growth. Each year, CCM serves hundreds of businesses, assisting with revitalizing innovation and maximizing profits by meeting the need for skilled employees. A study by Emsi shows CCM’s annual economic impact equates to more than $484 million.

Along with its associate degrees, CCM offers dozens of programs in such areas as Agile Project Management, Supply Chain and Six Sigma certification, and classes in Information Technology, Management, Leadership and more.

Meeting Evolving Needs in Multiple Industries

As part of its anniversary celebration, CCM is conducting a $2.1 million campaign to further support the needs of businesses.

One of the major industries driving growth in New Jersey is advanced manufacturing. Through its “Forward” campaign, CCM this year is constructing an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center. Designed with the input of industry, the center will both provide a future workforce and train current employees to meet evolving requirements.

The campaign also will fund the establishment of The Paragano Family Foundation Healthcare Simulation Center. Through that center, CCM will enhance its position as a major provider of highly-skilled healthcare professionals by offering state-of-the-art learning opportunities and new programs to meet emerging roles in healthcare.

Another in-demand area is cybersecurity. It is projected that by 2020, the need for information security professionals will reach 1.5 million. CCM is the only community college in New Jersey designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security. With funding from the campaign, its Investors Bank Cyber Security Suite will be better positioned to help protect New Jersey’s business community.

Through these and other initiatives, CCM will continue its service as an economic leader as envisioned when the college first opened its doors in 1968.
