Silberman College of Business offers the MS in Accounting program designed to help those seeking to develop a career in accounting and preparing to take the CPA exam. The program has received the American Accounting Association’s Award for Innovation in Accounting Education.

The 30-credit program can be completed either full-time or part-time depending on an individual’s professional and personal commitments. Courses are scheduled on weeknights and/or Saturdays on the Florham Campus in Morris County or on the Metropolitan Campus in Bergen County, offering commuting convenience to those working or living in northern or central New Jersey. Faculty teaching in the program have strong academic credentials coupled with considerable professional experience as practitioners. Students benefit from ample networking opportunities and are well prepared for careers by joining organizations such as BAP (Beta Alpha Psi), NABA (National Association of Black Accountants), and ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America). Passing rates on the CPA exam are in the top four among NJ schools with a placement rate of 93 percent for seniors. Graduates are employed by The Big 4 Accounting firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC), by corporations (such as BASF, Pfizer, Wyndham), as well as by many of the national and regional firms such as CohnReznick, EisnerAmper, Grant Thornton, Sax, and Sobel.

The MS in Taxation program offered by the Silberman College of Business is one of the oldest and largest tax programs in New Jersey. The 30-credit program offered on the Florham Campus is comprised of courses scheduled on weekday evenings and/or Saturdays and designed to accommodate peak season workloads. The program equips students with a blend of theoretical background, supplemented by relevant technical expertise, and prepares them for careers as tax professionals. It is best suited to practicing accountants, financial planners, attorneys, and recent accounting graduates. Faculty teaching in the program have outstanding academic credentials and strong professional backgrounds, and are much sought after commentators and speakers on tax-related issues.
