Philip F. McGovern Jr. is the Managing Partner of Connell Foley LLP, long recognized as one of New Jersey’s most prominent and highly regarded law firms. Mr. McGovern, who joined Connell Foley as a law clerk in 1983, became the firmwide Managing Partner in January 2016. Prior to this time, he held several leadership positions at the firm, including serving on Connell Foley’s Strategic Planning Committee, Hiring Committee, Management Committee and Executive Committee. In the late 1990s, he was a strong proponent of opening an office in Jersey City, as he saw tremendous potential for real estate and other business development in the greater Hudson County area. In 2002, Connell Foley opened its Jersey City office, with Mr. McGovern leading the efforts. The office has been a tremendous success for the firm and has been involved in a majority of the significant real estate development projects in that city. The firm expects to model this same success as it expands into other cities throughout the region.
