More than 1.9 million groups and individuals in New Jersey and Connecticut have dental benefits through Delta Dental.

Aside from dental benefits, DDNJ also offers its members vision benefits known as DeltaVision®, administered through VSP® Vision Care. This partnership allows businesses to simultaneously offer dental and vision benefits and includes the option to purchase glasses and contacts in the same calendar year.

DDNJ is helping to break down barriers to make oral healthcare more inclusive for those with special needs in New Jersey. Effective January 1, 2024, DDNJ’s group-covered members will be eligible for an enhanced benefit for children and adults with qualifying special healthcare needs.

The enhanced special healthcare needs benefit will cover:

• Additional dental examinations/consultations, which can be beneficial prior to treatment to help patients learn what to expect and what is needed for a successful appointment.
• Up to four total dental cleanings in a benefit year.
• Treatment delivery modifications (including anesthesia) necessary for dental staff to provide oral healthcare for patients with sensory sensitivities, behavioral challenges, severe anxiety, or other barriers to treatment.

DDNJ’s commitment to and belief that everyone deserves a healthy smile drives its business and community endeavors. The DDNJ Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, has actively supported inclusive dental care access and education programs across the state for at-risk populations, including disadvantaged children, adults and children with special needs, seniors, and veterans for over 35 years. In 2023, the DDNJ Foundation donated more than $808,000 in grants to 20 organizations to provide dental care and education to more than 13,000 uninsured and underinsured New Jerseyans.
