The Weichert Family of Companies Launches Weichert Development Company

Jim Weichert, president, chairman and CEO of the Weichert Family of Companies, is pleased to introduce Weichert Development Company, a full-service, privately held residential and commercial real estate investment and development business based out of the organization’s corporate headquarters in Morris Plains.

As a full-service developer and investor, Weichert Development Company’s capabilities range from property site selection, acquisition and construction to financing, leasing, property management and maintenance. Weichert Development Company is founded on the principles of professional expertise, reputation and commitment to success, and will focus on urban development, adaptive reuse, ground-up development, redevelopment and asset repurposing.

Weichert Development Company will be led by industry expert and longtime Weichert executive John G. Udell. With more than 38 years of experience, accolades and accomplishments in real estate development, sales and leasing, Udell was most recently president of Weichert Commercial Brokerage, Inc., a position he held for more than 15 years.

Udell is actively involved with many professional industry organizations including the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) and the Community Builders Association of New Jersey (CBA). He was the recipient of the 2004 Founders Award from the Community Builders Association, as well as the 2004/2005 NJBA Chairman Award for Legislature. A graduate of Johnson State College in Johnson, Vt., Udell was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame, and received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2006.
