Walmart Associates in New Jersey Earn $2.5 Million in Cash Bonuses

Bonuses are a portion of nearly $207 million earned nationwide in Q4 store performance-based cash bonuses

Today, more than 912,000 Walmart U.S. associates will receive a share of nearly $207 million in cash bonuses, as the company experienced a strong 4.2 percent fourth quarter comp sales growth. Associates are receiving their bonuses in paychecks received March 7. In New Jersey, associates will be awarded approximately $2.5 million for fourth quarter performance.

“Walmart continues identifying new ways to invest in our associates, who truly represent the foundation of our company’s success,” said Glen Spencer, Walmart’s regional general manager in New Jersey. “Our people make all the difference for us, and we appreciate and value their hard work and dedication.”

Quarterly bonuses are part of an overall incentive plan designed to reward associates whose stores achieve sales and customer service goals. Both full- and part-time associates are eligible for cash bonuses based on store performance.

For the full fiscal year, Walmart U.S. associates received nearly $800 million in store performance-based bonuses. In New York associates shared more than $10.7 million in store performance-based bonuses for the full fiscal year.

In New Jersey Walmart serves customers at 71 retail units and online through Walmart Grocery Pickup, Walmart.com and Jet.com. They employ 22,395 associates in New Jersey and supports local businesses, spending $10.3 billion with New Jersey suppliers in FY18, which supported 76,993 supplier jobs.
