Montclair-based public relations firm, Violet PR, announces it has won several prestigious PR awards this fall. Violet PR was named “Boutique Agency of the Year” at the national 2022 PRNEWS Platinum Awards and won seven awards at the 2022 Public Relations Society of America New Jersey (PRSA-NJ) Pyramid Awards.
“It’s thrilling to be named 2022’s “Boutique Agency of the Year” from the prestigious PRNEWS Platinum Awards — a national competition that recognizes the best in the PR industry,” said April Mason, president and founder of Violet PR. “Our agency experienced a tremendous year — we doubled in size with new high-profile clients, five outstanding hires and award-winning client campaigns.”
Violet PR also took home seven awards at the PRSA-NJ’s 33rd Annual Pyramid Awards, including the top honor of “Best in Show” for a public relations campaign for Newark Symphony Hall. The campaign helped the organization raise funds for a $50 million capital improvement program, attract and develop new programming and stay afloat during COVID-19.
Christina Forrest, account director at Violet PR, was honored with a PRSA-NJ “Rising Star” award for exhibiting the highest levels of ethics, securing measurable and award-winning results, and her commitment to lifelong learning and continuing education.
“I am honored that PRSA-NJ has selected me as the 2022 Rising Star recipient,” said Forrest. “Since joining Violet PR in 2014 as the agency’s first full-time hire, I am proud that the agency is getting recognition for its stellar work. Throughout my career, I’ve been delighted to be part of a team that creates high-performance public relations campaigns for clients making a positive impact on the world.”
Violet PR was also awarded Pyramid Awards in the following categories: Community Relations (Newark Symphony Hall), Events (Lincoln Equities Group), Diversity and Inclusion (Newark Symphony Hall), Media Relations (Pittsburgh International Airport) and Public Affairs (Pittsburgh International Airport).
The PRSA-NJ Pyramid Awards recognizes and celebrates the impactful work public relations and communications have on agencies and organizations across New Jersey. They are judged by a panel of PRSA NJ experts and evaluated on research, planning, execution and results, as well as the effective use of budgets and resources.
This month’s recognition comes on the heels of Violet PR being awarded “Best Boutique Agency” by Bulldog Reporter, making the PRNEWS Agency Elite Top 100 list and winning PRSA Bronze Anvil awards for media relations campaigns on behalf of Newark Symphony Hall and Choose Topeka. In the last three years, Violet PR won more than 40 national and regional awards for PR and social media excellence.
