Valley National Bank is offering virtual card management services for consumer debit cards, enabling self-service functionality through Valley’s consumer mobile banking app. Valley customers can now make changes to their debit cards including issue a new card, change the personal identification number (PIN), temporarily freeze a card, replace a card, and set travel notifications for domestic and international travel.
To deliver these services, Valley has partnered with Ciphertext Solutions, Inc., a financial technology software company, who developed the IssueDirect self-service solution to enhance the customer experience, increase the bank’s operational efficiencies and provide added security benefits for Valley’s customers. This partnership allows for Valley to engage with the fintech industry in a meaningful way and is the next step in a series of initiatives the bank is implementing to become an innovator in digital banking.
“A partnership with Ciphertext allows us to create a better omnichannel experience for our customers and aligns with Valley’s focus on technology and innovation,” stated Robert Bardusch, Valley’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to manage and protect their accounts on their mobile phones, with their computer or in person at a branch.”
