Valerie and Frank Montecalvo Inducted into National Recycling Hall of Fame

Valerie Montecalvo, president and CEO, and husband Frank Montecalvo, COO of the Bayshore Family of Companies of Woodbridge Township, were honored with induction into the National Construction & Demolition Recycling Hall of Fame for their lifetime achievement and pioneering efforts in recycling.

Valerie and Frank have been in the construction and recycling business for 40 years. They were recognized both for their leadership in business in running the largest and most diversified recycling operation in the Tri-State Region and for their broader commitment to external organizations and charitable causes. For 22 years, Bayshore has proven to be an “award-winning leader” in the recycling industry and champion for the environment, reintroducing materials into the economic mainstream while reducing the volume of material deposited in landfills.

“First and foremost, Frank and I would like to thank the CDRA Board of Directors for giving us this most humbling honor.” said Montecalvo in her acceptance speech. “It simply doesn’t get any better than being recognized for doing what you are most passionate about – recycling! Frank and I have successfully challenged the myth that a husband and wife can’t work together.”

Frank and Valerie manage all company operations growing Bayshore from a road reconstruction company into one of the largest recyclers in the Nation. In 2016 Valerie received the Distinguished Leadership Award for Lifetime Achievement in Business from Monmouth University and will be recognized this May for her philanthropic leadership by the Monmouth Park Charity Fund. The Montecalvos have graced the covers and been published in local media including: Commerce Magazine, NJBIZ, Waste & Recycling News, C & D World Magazine, NJ Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press and The Two River Times.
