Vaccinated New Jerseyans are Eligible for Free State Park Season Passes

There have now been 3.97 million New Jerseyans fully vaccinated for COVID-19, according to Gov. Phil Murphy, who today announced three additional incentives for those that have received their vaccination.

“To make sure that we are able to have a healthy and successful season in every community, our ‘Operation Jersey Summer’ is in full swing to make sure we get as many New Jerseyans, ages 12 and up, vaccinated against COVID-19,” Murphy said.

State Parks Vax Pass

One of the incentives announced today by the governor is the State Parks Vax Pass, which states that every New Jerseyan who has received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose by July 4, is eligible to receive a free season pass to any of New Jersey’s state parks for the remainder of the 2021 season.

“From High Point in the northwest to Cape May Point in the southeast, our state parks provide a great place for New Jerseyans to connect with one another and with nature,” said Shawn LaTourette, acting commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).  “A free State Parks Vax Pass is just one small way that we can thank our fellow residents for taking good care of themselves and each other by getting vaccinated against COVID-19.”

Starting May 27, those eligible can visit nj.gov/vaxandvisit to register for their pass. The pass will then be emailed to you, and is valid for the remainder of the calendar year, for an unlimited amount of visits.

Dinner With the Governor and First Lady

Separately, every New Jerseyan who gets their first vaccine dose before the end of May, including those who have already received their vaccine, is eligible to win a private dinner with the governor and his wife.

Those interested in entering can visit covid19.nj.gov/dinner.

Free Glass of Wine

Lastly, through a partnership with the Garden State Wine Growers Association, nine New Jersey wineries will participate in “Uncork the Vaccination.” According to Murphy, through this program, any New Jerseyan, age 21 and over, who receives their first vaccine dose in the month of May can visit a tasting room and receive a free glass of wine from one of the participating wineries.

These wineries include: Amalthea Cellars, Auburn Road Vineyards, Bellview Winery, DiMatteo Vineyards, Salem Oak Vineyards, Terhune Orchards, Tomasello Winery, Villa Milagro Vineyards in Pohatcong, and White Horse Winery.
