While technology often leads business news nowadays, a growing group of entrepreneurs are bucking that trend and moving their careers outdoors, into nature, tech-free. Ultimate Outdoor Adventures and Northeast Mountain Guiding, with their headquarters in New Jersey, are spearheading this franchise opportunity to help frustrated business owners get out from behind computers and take a seat in kayaks or rappel down waterfalls as certified wilderness instructors.
The first outdoor adventure franchise in the United States, Ultimate Outdoor Adventures, headquartered in Lincroft, offers aspiring entrepreneurs all they need to start their own outdoor business. They have seven current franchise locations: Middletown, New Jersey; Connecticut; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Catskills State Park, New York; Charlotte, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; and Washington DC. Two locations will be open in mid 2018 in Florida and Vermont. At each of the franchises they offer several activities in various local, state and national parks. Franchises are available throughout the United States.
Ultimate Outdoor Adventures (UOA) was founded by Joey Vulpis in 2016. Joey is also chief of Bayshore Search and Rescue, NJ; president of Northeast Mountain Guiding; secretary of the board at the Professional Climbing Guides Institute; and president of the American Hiking Guides Association. With his team of guides, Vulpis and Ultimate Outdoor Adventures leads camps, scout troops, schools, law enforcement, and the general public on day and overnight trips. Some of their most popular activities include waterfall rappelling, backpacking, rock climbing, and mountaineering.
UOA also offers professional training in wilderness first aid and guiding. If you’re not ready to own a franchise, but still want to make a career transition into the outdoors, UOA can equip you with the training and tools to start a new career. Their training is also employed by professional law enforcement and State Police to expand their knowledge and better serve the community.
Staff and guides at all of the locations are some of the most highly experienced in the outdoor adventure industry. All of the UOA guides are trained and/or certified in the activity that they are guiding. Climbing guides are trained and/or certified by the Professional Climbing Guides Institute or the American Mountain Guides Association. Hiking, backpacking and mountaineering guides are trained and/or certified by the American Hiking Guides Association. ALL guides are CPR and wilderness first aid certified. Most of the guides hold higher wilderness medicine certifications like Wilderness EMT and Remote Paramedic.
