The Confederation of Indian Industry, Rowan University and State Sign MOU

The New Jersey-India Commission, in conjunction with Choose New Jersey, today facilitated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the New Jersey Department of State, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Rowan University as part of the Commission’s inaugural economic mission. The MOU, signed by Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way, was established to create a strong link between the global technology centers of India and New Jersey in an effort to advance research and development.

“We have a longstanding and continuously growing partnership with India, and this MOU further solidifies our connection to its booming technology industry,” said Way. “We look forward to creating new opportunities together, driving innovation, and fostering growth for both regions. The collaboration between the Confederation of Indian Industry and Rowan University allows for advancements in research and development to benefit our respective residents.”

New Jersey is The World’s State™ — a global hub that draws immigrants and international businesses from around the world. New Jersey shares deep cultural and educational ties with India, and this agreement will further strengthen these bonds by fostering collaboration in research and technological development. The MOU will also lay the foundation for expanded partnerships in the technology sector.

New Jersey is home to more than 10,000 technology companies and boasts the highest concentration of scientists and engineers nationwide. Institutions like Rowan University play a pivotal role in this innovation ecosystem, cultivating top-tier talent and driving advancements in fields such as engineering, cybersecurity, and health sciences through cutting-edge research and global partnerships.
