The Beer Wholesalers Association of New Jersey Names Executive Director

The Beer Wholesalers Association of New Jersey announced the appointment of Michael I. Halfacre as executive director.

Halfacre, 49, of Fair Haven, is an attorney with 25 years of experience.  He previously served as the director of the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.  Prior to being appointed director by Governor Chris Christie, Halfacre owned his own law practice, where he specialized in transactional work, including real estate and alcoholic beverage license transfers. In addition, he served as municipal prosecutor and municipal attorney in several Monmouth County municipalities, where he prosecuted drunk drivers, underage persons in possession of alcohol and the adults who provided alcohol to underage persons.  Halfacre also served as Mayor of Fair Haven.  Currently, Mr. Halfacre serves as Of Counsel to the law firm of Genova Burns.

Halfacre will succeed Robert J. Pinard, who has been Executive Director since 1992.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Dayton. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1991. He is married to Tricia, and has three children: Ellie, Matthew and Marshall.
