Study: Big Tech Companies That Hire NJ Talent

England-based TonerGiant has analyzed the path from education to employment in a new study to find out which universities are more likely to hire graduates for careers at the world’s biggest and most valuable tech companies. Among the key findings relating to New Jersey institutions of higher education, the study found that:

  • Over 7,000 graduates from universities in New Jersey work at a major tech company. New Jersey ranks 15th in the top list of states with the most alumni working at a tech giant.
  • Princeton University graduates are more likely to work at one of the world’s biggest tech companies, compared to any other university in New Jersey (2,267 alumni).
  • Amazon has hired more graduates from universities in New Jersey than any other giant tech company – 1,703 graduates from universities in the state work there.

1. Top 20 states graduates are most likely to get hired at a tech company

Graduates from universities in California are more likely than any other US state to go on to work at a tech company. New Jersey ranks 13th, with 7,758 graduates working in tech companies.

2. The world’s biggest tech companies are most likely to hire Princeton University graduates

Graduates from Princeton University are more likely than those of any other university in New Jersey to work at one of the world’s biggest tech companies. We counted 2,267 graduates on LinkedIn now working at the world’s most valuable tech companies.

  • According to our study, Amazon has hired more graduates from the NJ universities in our analysis than any other giant tech company. In total, 1,703 graduates from universities in New Jersey are working there.

Using LinkedIn, TonerGiant discovered where more than 500,000 employees of the world’s most valuable tech companies studied to find out which companies are more likely to hire from certain universities. The analysis looked at 26 of the biggest tech companies including Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Microsoft.
