St. Joseph’s Health Opens New Totowa Health Campus

One-stop, state-of-the-art outpatient facility brings together leading experts and advanced services to enhance clinical excellence, elevate patient experience

St. Joseph’s Health has opened the St. Joseph’s Health Totowa Health Campus, a state-of-the-art outpatient facility that follows the multi-specialty care model by providing access to primary, urgent and specialty care services under one roof.

“We’re excited to bring a new outpatient facility to the surrounding community,” said Kevin Slavin, president of St. Joseph’s Health. “We’ve created a one-stop model in this new setting, where access to multiple services, at one location, will enhance overall patient experience and improve clinical outcomes.”

St. Joseph’s Health officially opened the Totowa Health Campus during a special ceremony this past Friday that included a ribbon cutting and a blessing by the Most Reverend Kevin Sweeney, Bishop of the Diocese of Paterson. More than 100 people attended the event, including Congressman Bill Pascrell, 9th District of New Jersey; John Coiro, Mayor of Totowa; and Senator Kristen Corrado, of New Jersey’s 40th Legislative District.

The new campus, located at 225 Minnisink Road, is a 140,000-square-foot facility that integrates a comprehensive listing of outpatient services, including primary and urgent care, diagnostic imaging including MRI and CT, radiology, lab services and pharmacy all under one roof. A host of medical and surgical physician offices are located on the campus, including cardiology, urology and gynecology, along with specialty centers including rehabilitation and physical therapy. This fall, the health campus will also be the new home of a comprehensive cancer center.

“St. Joseph’s Health is growing to deliver the right care at the right time and the right place,” Slavin added. “The new campus provides an innovative setting that incorporates seamless access to a variety of St. Joseph’s high-quality services.”

“St. Joseph’s Health has successfully redesigned the delivery of healthcare with the integration of numerous specialists and healthcare services into one location,” said Wilfredo Fernandez, chairman, St. Joseph’s Health Board of Trustees. “As the healthcare landscape continues to change and evolve, St. Joseph’s Health is committed to providing world-class healthcare, delivering the most comprehensive and innovative treatments for our patients and area residents, right in their own backyard.”

The new St. Joseph’s Totowa Health Campus is situated in the Totowa Medical Arts Complex, and is part of CHA Partners’ Master Plan for the transformation of the former 140-acre North Jersey Development Center campus. The multi-phase plan for the property also includes the ground-up construction of a senior living facility, data center, and research and development projects that will total 1,028,000 square feet.

“This project was many years in the making and we’re honored to stand alongside St. Joseph’s Health and all of the various stakeholders who made today’s opening possible,” said CHA’s Managing Partner William J. Colgan. “The Totowa community and surrounding regions will undoubtedly benefit from the opening of this facility, which will provide a comprehensive array of healthcare services, including the most technologically advanced cancer treatment center in the area.”
