Spencer Savings Bank has awarded $37,500 in scholarships to local high school graduates. Each high school student received a $1,500 scholarship for college tuition assistance. Since the commencement of the bank’s scholarship program in 2002, almost $700,000 in scholarships have been awarded to deserving students throughout the state.
“We are very proud to continue to support education in our community by providing our youth with almost $40,000 in scholarships to help them with their academic pursuits,” stated Jose B. Guerrero, Spencer’s chairman and CEO. “At Spencer, supporting education, learning and growth in our community will always be extremely important to us. We celebrate and honor these gifted students for their dedication and pursuit of academic excellence. Our entire team congratulates them and wishes them continued success in all their future endeavors!”
Students from various New Jersey school districts across the state received scholarships. The students received certificates and also attended, along with family members, a scholarship ceremony held at the Spencer Savings Bank financial center in Elmwood Park. At the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious Italian buffet dinner while meeting and connecting with the bank’s executive and senior leadership teams.
