Sen. Menendez, Colleagues Introduce Bill on Wage Discrimination

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez joined 45 Democratic colleagues, including Sen. Cory Booker, in reintroducing the Paycheck Fairness Act, a piece of legislation that would strengthen the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and guarantee women have the ability to challenge pay discrimination and hold their employers accountable.

“By introducing this important legislation, we are taking real action to ensure women across the country are paid exactly what they deserve,” said Sen. Menendez.

The Paycheck Fairness Act would hold employers accountable for discriminatory practices, ending the practice of pay secrecy, easing workers’ ability to individually or jointly challenge pay discrimination, and strengthening the available remedies for wronged employees.
