Select Medical’s Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, one of the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospitals, announced today the appointment of Sue Kida, P.T., MHA, to the position of president, effective Oct. 1. Kida, who most recently served as the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Kessler’s Chester campus.
“Sue Kida is an experienced, results-oriented leader,” said Robert H. Brehm, president of Select Medical’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital Division — Kessler’s parent company — and former president of Kessler Institute. “She has been an integral part of the Kessler team for more than 30 years, and we are proud to have an individual of her caliber ready to help steer Kessler in today’s ever-challenging healthcare landscape.”
Kida began her career with Kessler as a physical therapist and has held a number of clinical and administrative roles. Her previous work includes being part of a team that received the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Excellence in Quality Improvement Award for its successful reduction of avoidable hospital readmissions.
“I look forward to working closely with all Kessler staff to expand our programs and services, enhance patient safety and satisfaction, and enable our patients to achieve exceptional outcomes,” Kida said.
An active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association, Executive Women of New Jersey and the American College of Health Care Executives, Ms. Kida has a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Seton Hall University and has authored numerous articles in various industry publications.
