A formal ribbon cutting ceremony recently marked the grand opening of American Family Care’s (AFC’s) new state-of-the-art urgent care center in Livingston, increasing access to healthcare for residents of the Essex County town and its surrounding communities. The walk-in urgent care center located at 90 South Livingston Ave. is the sixth AFC franchise in central/northern New Jersey to be led by Albert Saad, owner, and Dr. Avery Browne, medical director.
Mayor Michael Vieira and Deputy Mayor Alfred Anthony, township officials, regional business leaders and neighbors joined key AFC stakeholders at the grand opening event, which included an open house reception with tours and a meet-and-greet with AFC’s clinical staff and management team.
The Livingston opening follows the addition of an AFC location in Clark earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our latest opening, continuing a period of regional growth for our brand,” Saad noted. “Our team represents one of the first – and one of the largest – AFC franchisees in New Jersey. Our growth is a testament to our high-quality medical services and outstanding team of professionals, particularly in a changing healthcare environment where patients appreciate expedient access to best-in-class care.”
Providing convenient, high-quality medical care, AFC Livingston is open seven days per week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, with no appointment necessary and most major insurance plans accepted.
Patients at AFC Livingston are treated by licensed and board-certified medical providers. The nearly 4,000-square-foot center provides medical care for a wide variety of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries including minor procedures. AFC’s comprehensive suite of services includes on-site digital x-rays and laboratory testing for quick and accurate diagnostics; sports/camp/school physicals; DOT and immigration physicals; and occupational medicine services.
“Our patients benefit from a provider with deep resources, protocols and processes – yet we are independently owned,” Dr. Browne said. “We are all New Jerseyans, and our leadership works hands-on in our centers on a daily basis. This means we manage with an emphasis on patient care and attention to detail. As with everything we do, we are mindful of maintaining the highest standards.”
Today, with more than 200 clinics across 26 states, treating nearly 3 million patients a year, AFC is a leading provider of urgent care and occupational medicine in the nation.
