Prudential Center Celebrates 15 Years

New Arena Enhancements Highlight the Landmark Anniversary

Fifteen years ago today, New Jersey legends Bon Jovi and My Chemical Romance opened the doors to the Prudential Center in Newark. Since then, the facility has hosted more than 2,500 events and more than 20 million guests. To commemorate the 15th anniversary, Prudential Center will host a year-long celebration featuring an incredible lineup of events.

“The Rock” is an industry leader, not only in New Jersey, but worldwide. Ranked in the Top 10 globally by Pollstar, Billboard, and Venues Today, Prudential Center has been consistently recognized as a must-stop venue for acts across all genres of music, sports, and entertainment.

In addition to being the home of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) three-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils, who celebrate their 40th Anniversary this season, and Seton Hall University’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball program, Prudential Center also hosts the Devils’ practice facility – RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House, and the GRAMMY Museum Experience TM Prudential Center, which also celebrates its’ 5th Anniversary this week.

The Rock has become one of the hottest venues of its size in the United States. The venue hosts more than 175 diverse programs per year which include K-Pop, Latin, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop, family shows, specials events, and much more. Prudential Center has recently established itself as the “North American Home of K-Pop” and a must-play Northeast destination for Latin acts.

Additionally, the building’s burgeoning sports properties business includes two annual marquee college basketball events in the Never Forget Tribute Classic and the Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic for HBCUs, World Championship Boxing, collegiate and professional wrestling, esports, and much more.

Among its greatest hits over the past 15 years, Prudential Center has hosted the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Finals and professional basketball games including the New Jersey Nets (NBA) and the New York Liberty (NBA). Prudential Center also hosted the 2019 & 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, JAY-Z, Drake, Andrea Bocelli, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, The Who, My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, Justin Bieber, U2, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Shawn Mendes, George Strait, Michael Bublé, Justin Timberlake, Bad Bunny, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, and Sebastian Maniscalco.

In celebration of the 15th year anniversary, Prudential Center is excited to announce new enhancements that will be featured throughout the building this upcoming year.

New to Prudential Center:

  • Sound System Updates: Prudential Center debuted its brand-new audio sound system, which consists of eight-line arrays and 22 delay ring locations that feature Adamson speakers and Lab Gruppen amplifiers. The system was designed by Anthony James Partners (AJP) and integrated by CV Lloyde and Star-Lo Communications.
  • Mobile App: The brand-new Prudential Center and New Jersey Devils app is the home for all Devils and PruCenter news and information. It is your key to The Rock featuring all arena events, including ticket management, an interactive concourse and bowl map, A-Z arena guide, food, beverage, merchandise information and more.
  • Premium Space Updates: Prudential Center launched its newest modern, all-inclusive premium experience: Studio Suites. These first-of-their-kind, exclusive suites are close to the action on the lower-level and include an open-arena experience with a premium all-inclusive in-suite featuring upscale food, reserved parking pass, up to eight tickets in your private suite and much more.
  • New Food Concepts: Specialty dining concepts include Piez Italian Eatery home of the official New Jersey Devils Meatball and other Italian favorites, traditional Mexican street food at Street Taco Cantina (presented by Goya), slow smoked BBQ at Mighty Quinn’s, burgers and hotdogs at Black Board Burgers and Japanese-infused hotdogs and tots at Sumo Dog.
  • New Food Options at Classic Stands: a classic Taylor ham (or pork roll) sandwich, Jersey fries, beef cheesesteak, mushroom and pepper cheesesteak, calamari, crab cakes, Goya-spiced half rotisserie chicken plate, chicken bowl, and falafel bowl.
  • New and Improved Full-Service Bars: Spotlighting Heineken Deck on the main concourse, PlayUp Lounge, Bud Red Light Bar, the Hijole! Tequila Bar, and Jersey Spirit.
  • New Building Partners Include: Parking Deck presented by Hyundai, Hyundai Skybridge, Hyundai Club, Stick Toss Ale, LeGrand Coffee House with Souvenir Cups, Fairwinds Estate Winery, and Path Water.
