Professional Liability & Health Care Law Firm Sharp & Mahoney Joins Business Law Firm Scarinci Hollenbeck

Scarinci Hollenbeck is announces that the law firm of Sharp & Mahoney, LLC has joined the team of litigators in its Lyndhurst office and will expand the firm’s services in the health care industry.

James B. Sharp, Maureen A. Mahoney and three of their associates will add a professional liability and health care practice to Scarinci Hollenbeck. As well as, increased depth to the firm’s already strong litigation group. Sharp and his team have successfully tried hundreds of cases to conclusion with top ratings from associated clientele and the legal community at large.

The new Scarinci Hollenbeck attorneys are as follows:

James B. Sharp– Mr. Sharp is a seasoned Trial Attorney with over 35 years of experience. He has tried over 250 medical malpractice matters – each to a verdict – in which he has represented either a physician or another health care provider.

Over the years, Mr. Sharp has lectured on medical negligence issues and the representation of health care providers for various educational, professional, and business entities.  He has been approved as defense counsel for MDAdvantage, Princeton, Pro-Mutual/Coverys, ProNational, Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), Medical Protective, ESIS ProClaim America, and Liberty Healthcare Systems.

Maureen A. Mahoney– Ms. Mahoney devotes her practice to civil litigation with an emphasis on professional liability that includes all areas of liability that arise in the medical and healthcare field affecting healthcare providers and their practices, hospitals and nursing homes. Her litigation practice and active community involvement has enabled Ms. Mahoney to grow her practice to include matters involving non-profit liability and employment law.

Scott A. Leaman– Mr. Leaman has experience defending both businesses and individuals in employment law, products liability, and professional liability lawsuits.  He has handled cases in federal courts, involving litigation in multiple states beyond New Jersey.  He has defended professional liability lawsuits in counties throughout New Jersey, representing physicians and other health care providers.

Julie E. Gendel– Ms. Gendel devotes a majority of her practice to litigation in the area of health and hospital law; representing a variety of health care providers in medical malpractice cases. She has experience in litigating medical malpractice actions, premises liability cases, and ERISA disability benefits. She is a graduate from Seaton hall University School of Law, magna cum laude.

Benjamin A. Hooper– Mr. Hooper is an associate with the firm’s professional liability & Healthcare group. Mr. Hooper represents private sector clients in complex, multi-party, civil ligation in State Courts and the New Jersey Appellate Division. He focuses his practice on defending a broad array of medical professionals and entities from claims of malpractice.
