Press Communications announced the introduction of a new radio station format in the Monmouth and Ocean County New Jersey market, 107.1 The Boss – Classic Rock of the 70s, 80s and More.
The New 107.1 The BOSS debuted on-air this past Friday featuring a mix of superstar artists like The Eagles, Journey, Guns ‘n Roses, Queen, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, U2, Boston, Steve Miller Band, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and of course local favorites Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and Blondie. The first song to kick-off the new station was Queen’s classic battle cry “We Will Rock You.”
The change from its former moniker “Fun 107.1” comes following a market wide research study looking at music eras, song preferences and audience perceptions. Press Chief Operating Officer, Don Dalesio stated that “we extensively tested a wide variety of music and titles from artists targeting Adults 25-54 in both Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the results were crystal clear. The overwhelming conclusion was that our local audience wants a station that plays their favorite classics from the 70’s and 80’s without all of the clutter and nonsense heard on other stations.”
The station’s VP of Programming, Jeff Rafter says “107.1 The Boss is a return to the music you grew up with, now back on the radio. We’re playing the best classic rock from the 70s and 80s. Your new BOSS is also striving to be the workplace favorite, starting with 2 commercial free hours of classic rock at 9am. It’s the music that everyone can agree on at work, that you can play the air guitar to and sing along with.”
107.1 The BOSS can also be heard in Southern Ocean County on 99.7, giving the station coverage over most of Monmouth, Ocean, and Southern Middlesex Counties, a range of over 85 miles.
The station has also launched its listen live website, and will feature concerts, giveaways, promotions and entertainment content driven around the station’s heritage Classic Rock format.
